Ai Kawakubo is a Japanese artist with an international background. Born in Japan and raised between Malaysia and her home country, she graduated in art from Tokyo Polytechnic University.
After years as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer, she moved to Florence in 2005 to specialize in goldsmithing. From this fusion of experiences came her jewelry and art objects, made from different materials and displayed in exhibitions between Milan, Paris and Tokyo.
