Pitti Mosaici was founded in Florence in 1982 by Emilio de Filippis (known as Ilio) and was born from the experience of 3 generations of artistic craftsmanship. Today Ilio, with his two sons Isse and Iory, leads the master mosaicists in creating inlaid panels, paintings and tables following the ancient Renaissance technique of Florentine commesso in hard and semi-precious stone, also known as "the art of the Medici family" or "stone painting."
