On the occasion of the Week of the Florentine, which will take place March 25-30, 2025, Artex, in collaboration with the City of Florence and Feel Florence, offers a calendar full of events to discover the Florentine artisans of Firenze Creativa.
Capodanno Fiorentino 2025
On March 25, Artex and Promowine celebrate the Florentine New Year with a special event at Conventino Fuori le Mura. An afternoon of art, good food and local traditions, with tastings, cultural talks and live performances.
From 3:30 p.m., the workshops of Officina Creativa Lab by Artex will welcome Slow Food producers with zero-mile excellence: wine, cold cuts, cheeses, honey, beer and preserves, offering visitors the chance to discover and buy genuine products directly from their creators.
Also from 3:30 p.m., Florentine artist Ornella Baratti Bon will present her work “È nato prima l’uovo, “ an evocative papier-mâché egg painted with oil pastels, in which everyday scenes and memories are intertwined in a dreamlike and surreal atmosphere. The work embodies the artist’s poetics, suspended between dream and memory, and is part of an artistic quest that for years has seen her as a protagonist between engraving, illustration and painting thanks to her ability to transform every surface into a visual tale full of meaning.
At 5 p.m., the Tuscan culinary tradition will take center stage with a meeting on combating food waste. Gian Marco Mazzanti, regional coordinator of Osterie d’Italia – Slow Food Editore, will illustrate the ancient method of cassetta cooking: a sustainable technique that allows food to stay warm while reducing energy consumption.
Grand finale at 6 p.m. with chef Paolo Gori of Trattoria Da Burde, who will prepare live Uova alla Salai, a dish inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci’s Annunciation. A tribute to the Renaissance genius’ passion for vegetarian cuisine and the flavors of the Lenten tradition.
List of participating wineries:
- Fattoria di Poggiopiano – Wine
- La Sosta del Gallo Viandante – Cold cuts and cheeses
- Caseificio Bacciotti – Cheeses
- Gattinera Farm – Organic legumes and grains
- Terrafranta – Lavender
- Corzano Brewery – Beer
